A political ad on which we can all agree
It's not often the regulars here at 2or3 can agree on much political, but I think we can all agree with the John McCain ad that will air tonight.
McCain says: “Senator Obama, this is truly a good day for America. Too often the achievements of our opponents go unnoticed. So I wanted to stop and say, congratulations. How perfect that your nomination would come on this historic day. Tomorrow, we’ll be back at it. But tonight Senator, job well done.”
He's right. Regardless of how you feel about Obama politically, it is a great day for our nation that Obama could reach this height politically.
It appears Obama now plans to do a similar ad next week during the Republican convention.
I feel confident that both individuals mean exactly what they said (will say). It is possible to be political opponents and not be enemies. It is possible to disagree, even vehemently, with the positions across the aisle, while still respecting and valuing them as persons.
