Super Bowl at MY HOUSE?!?
As some of you know, I could care less about spectator sports - in fact, I've worked hard to not despise people who waste time with any ego investment in sports teams. So, my wife decides to invite our friends from church over to my house today for a super bowl party? Sheesh, in three hours my house is gonna be full of hot wings and soda. Sigh. At least I like the people coming over.
But what makes the super bowl fun are the commercials (last year I recorded the game and just watched the commercials). The funnest thing I've seen this year is the Doritos promotion where they asked people to submit commercials, and people voted on the winner. My absolute fav is the checkout girl.

Oh, my dear Seeker. If only my Sunday was so cush. I wish I could have been home watching the Super Bowl instead of being in a car and then a plane from 2AM on today.
However, my one consolation is that all the funny commercials for the game are already on YouTube. As someone that likes the game, I will only miss out on half the fun.
Maybe next year you can just have a Super Bowl commercial party and watch the commercials right off of YouTube from your media center on the Big Screen.
Oh, BTW my Mac Laptop media center worked like a charm on the airplane. 12 ripped movies and a few shows from the TiVo all on demand. Me thinks the AppleTV will be nice.

I have to second Silver Hallide's sarcasm on this Seeker. You sound beyond snobby. Try not to let the football fans make you nauseous. Other than that, I hope you had a nice super bowl party.

Seeker,
You could care less about the game isn't communicating what you want it to. You mean:
I couldn't care less about the game. Meaning that absolutely, positively, do not care about the game, or its outcome.
Sorry to be the grammar police.

Go figure that I include a typo in my post.

Glad to know my coblogger has worked hard to not despise me.
We had a Super Bowl party at church. People brought soups, entry fee was a canned good to go to the city food pantry and watched the game. Glad to see the Colts win.
It was kind of a proxy thing. I am a Dolphins fan and grew up watching Dan Marino. I hate that he has that stigma about him for having never won the Super Bowl, so I didn't want to see Manning have the same thing happen to him. Plus, I have always liked Tony Dungy anyway.
But my Super Bowl happens Wednesday. I will miss the first part of it at church, but Duke v. UNC 2007 Round 1 tips off at Cameron that night. I am hoping Duke can pull off the upset after losing their last two ACC games in heartbreaking fashion.
Sam, how is WVU doing this year? I haven't heard much about them, but I haven't been able to follow college bball too closely this year.

Just being honest. As a non-joiner type (if 'goth' would have been around when I was in high school, I would have been one), I was often rejected by jocks and others who, like most teens, judged me as unpopular because I wasn't athletic or into superficial mainstream culture, which included the cult of sports fandom. For a long time, I despised sports fans, esp. men, as superficial idiots with huge portions of their ego and self devoted to which sports team they followed - I mean, come on, being seriously angry or depressed because your TEAM lost? Grow up!
But again, we all have our ego investments that we need to mature out of. Mine was my counter-culture identity, something I still sort of hold to, just now, it's my creationist affiliations. ;)

Yeah, although this is a common mistake that I see made often. Thanks for the correction.
You could make such a statement "correct" if you added "if it was possible" to the end ;)
