Let the browser wars begin
With Microsoft and Mozilla releasing new versions of their browsers this week, it appears we may finally be headed back toward innovation with web browsers.
Users can get Firefox 2.0 or IE 7.0 (although the new Internet Explorer is available only for Windows opperating systems).
The best thing to me about the next Firefox is the built in spell check - how much better will blogging and commenting be with correct spelling?
I have all three browsers on my G4 (the latest versions of Safari and Firefox). Despite the flash of these new browsers, being a Mac man I will probably stick with Safari and use Firefox if I have any pages have problems with Apple's browser.
I have gotten used to the ins and outs of Safari and I don't know if the spell check feature will be enough to convince me to switch over. But one things for certain, I won't be using IE even after the updated version comes out for Mac.

Well, I downloaded IE7 last night, after having used RC3 for a while, and all I can say is, Firefox still kicks it's butt, even before Firefox 2.
IE7 has inferior tab control, a limited and not very impressive set of available plugins, and lousy developer tools. I'm not sure how compliant it is with CSS and the like, but I'll have to figure that out for my job. Sigh.

Loving Firefox 2.0! I've already changed the link on my website to help promote it.
