McKinney is enjoying the attention

Like Cindy Sheehan before her, Cynthia "Slappy the Squirrel" McKinney is enjoying the spotlight so much that she refuses to leave.

She continues to take up time for herself which the Democrats could be using to push their latest plan or attack Bush. McKinney would rather make all the rounds appearing on any show that will take her so she can non-apologize again, while blaming Bush for 9/11.

Just like with Sheehan (in the last few months) few Democrats want to support McKinney, but none will really take her to task or tell her to stop. They are paralyzed by their own PC mess.

But the real reason I posted this was because I wanted a chance to post a picture of Slappy the Squirrel and remember the good ol' days of Animaniacs. I loved that show.

McKinney acted stupidly by hitting the capital cop. She acted stupidly by saying it was racial profiling. She apologized but it rings hollow. She seems like a stupid person to me and not really that interesting. Cynthia Sheehan is not stupid. She lost her son in a war that she feels is unjustified. She feels strongly about it so she won't just go away. I don't see how she connects to McKinney in any significant way. Slappy the Squirrel is new to me :)

Sheehan is a bit different from McKinney, in that she evokes more sympathy (and rightly so) because she lost her son in the war.

But after a certain period of time, you have to evaluate the words and actions of a person apart from any feelings of sympathy. Sheehan has said numerous anti-American, anti-Semetic, pro-terrorist, pro-Communist dictatorship things in the last year.

She no longer has much support from Democrats because of the irrational things she has said. Notice that she was (maybe still is) contemplating running against one of the liberal Democratic senators from California.

This was not meant to be a discussion on Sheehan, I would much rather discuss the idiocy of McKinney or the virtues of the Yakko, Wakko and Dot, the stars of the Animaniacs. ;)

Okay, it was not meant to be a discussion on Sheehan but you included her in the original post. I agree with Sheehan on some things. Lets discuss McKinney, she is basically an idiot, I don't know what else there is to say.

I always wondered, why does one of the Animaniacs have a Liverpool accent? Is it a Beatles thing?

I run a movie blog and this came up which I thought was kind of cool...

Long retired from "acting" and now living at a primate sanctuary in - where else? - Palm Springs, Calif., Cheeta celebrated his world-record 74th birthday Sunday. He's said by the folks at the Guinness Book of World Records to be the world's oldest primate. Few chimps are known to have lived past the age 50

According to National Public Radio, in retirement Cheeta has become an avid painter.

Best known for his roles alongside Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O'Sullivan in the Tarzan movies, Cheeta first appeared on screen in 1934 and had parts in 12 flicks.

Weissmuller died in 1984, at the age of 79. O'Sullivan died in 1988, at the age of 87. Johnny Sheffield (who played "Boy") celebrates his 75th birthday Tuesday.
